My friend Erik has only been down in Austin for about two weeks now working for Bioware. So far, from what little he’s told me, it sounds like they’re working in the house from Silver Spoons. Or Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory sans the trippy parts. They have a freaking ice cream room, guys. Just a room — a small walk-in freezer, I imagine — full of all the ice cream you could possibly want. They have another room filled with arcade games and pretty much every gaming console ever created. They have taco days. They have popcorn days. They feed him breakfast every morning full of fruits I’ve never even heard of. Did you know that kiwi berries were a thing? ‘Cause I sure as Hell didn’t.
There’s also free swag, but I’ll save those stories for another time.
During one of his first days there, he was told that none other than Felicia Day, the Goddess of Geek herself, was in the building. Bioware makes the Dragon Age series, and Felicia Day is doing a web series to coincide with the release of Dragon Age: Redemption.
He got to sit next to her! And talk to her! I’m guessing they shook hands, which means he touched her! She signed a head shot for him, and I demanded, between curses and sobs of jealous rage, that he scan it and email me this picture.
I turned him onto her web series, The Guild, a year or two back, and now he gets to meet her before me?! Oh, Fate, you cruel bitch of a mistress, you…

You can also watch the trailer for the Dragon Age: Redemption web series here, and if you’re an online gamer or ever have been, you’ll probably enjoy The Guild, which you can watch on Xbox Live, YouTube, or the show’s official site.
