I constantly yo-yo between bouts of self doubt and believing in myself nearly to the point of delusion.

I have quit half way through things as mundane as walking to my mailbox, shaving, and eating an apple, but if I believe in a project, I will bang my head bloody against a wall of frustration and then quietly go back to work.

If someone I know suggests that I get my G.E.D. and move on, I won’t talk to them for a week, but if a complete stranger encourages me to follow my dreams, I’ll share my first tea of the day with them.

I think what it all comes down to is, as tired as I am, it’s so easy to dream, but so hard to say goodnight.

I was being serious, by the way; I really have quit halfway through shaving. Exactly half way through. It looked like my face was stuck in an epic battle between good and evil.

My top 15 songs of 2010 - #5

Dr. Dog sound like what they are — Some dudes with instruments just enjoying the craft of writing music.

I remember having a tough day earlier this year and going for a quick drink across the street at Chilis. Yes, Chilis. There are no bars near here, OK?. Except for the strip club. Anyway, I went in, ordered a drink, put this song on, and left after a few sips. I didn’t need it anymore.

A good song trumps a good drink anyday.

I am still figuring out the “how?” and the “when?” for this trip to Cincinnati, but I’ve come to accept that this is gonna happen. I really want to leave this town, but I always wanted it to be on my own terms. I’m a bit tired of having life happen to me, bullying me around.

Anyways, I’ve decided that when I get to Cincinnati, I’m going to bury myself in my work. I just started back up on a script I was writing and realized how much work it needs. So much rewriting. I have actually cringed on multiple occasions these past two weeks while reading some dialogue. I really remember being further along in the process than I am.

And now I’m 30. Where’d all the time go?

I’m going to be counting on Twitter and you Tumbletopians to keep me sane. Until then, I’m still on a bit of a break from Tumblr. A break from posting at least. I’ll still be reading your posts and handing out hearts like candy on Valentines. Oh, and I have a few ideas that I’ve been wanting to try out for my own Tumblr page… Plus, I’ll have a whole new city to subject to coke bombings.

Oh yeah, and the new Dr. Dog album Shame, Shame is out. Here’s a fitting track from it.
