Galifianakattack!!!

Until “The Hangover” came out, I really thought Zach Galifianakis would never break into the big time. He was perpetually on the edge of success, but I always just figured he was a bit too weird for the masses. I mean, Dane Cook seems to be as edgy as mainstream comedy is willing to go. In America, at least.

To me, Zach was lumped into a group of comedians like Patton Oswalt, Eugene Mirman, and Mitch Hedberg. (R.I.P.) Comedians who weren’t just great performers but had an original voice, too. Well, a few years ago, during the whole Kings and Queens Of Comedy tours and The Blue Collar Comedy tours, Patton Oswalt and some of his comedian friends, including Galifianakis, decided to do their own called The Comedians Of Comedy Tour.

It. Was. Awesome.

Some of it was filmed and aired on Comedy Central, under the same name, as a thirty minute show. Aside from some really great stand-up comedy, we were able to see their clear hate for things like Cracker Barrel restaurants and morning radio shows. The show itself is not available for DVD, (dammit) but there is a DVD that is basically a filming of one specific show. Tons of great comedians on it, including Galifianakis himself. Check it out sometime.

Anyways, this song was used as the theme song for the Comedy Central show. So if you’ve seen it and ever wondered who that song was by, you’re welcome.
